The People’s Committee Building in Ho Chi Minh City was built from 1898 to 1909. This structure was designed by a French architect, Femand Gardès in a Bell Tower style popular for designing administrative buildings in the north of France at that time.
The first name of this building is Hôtel de Ville. After the Vietnam War, it became the workplace of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. Although it has undergone many name changes, the building remains the original use, the meeting and the workplace of the city government. People’s Committee Building in Ho Chi Minh City – An ancient beauty
The design of the building was blended between the Renaissance of Italy and France.
The middle part is a high-pointed tower, both sides have a balanced roof. The left and right sides of the building are lower than the rest.
