Go Vap District has been highly urbanized since the 1980s, and because of its vast area and large population, it is still being invested in. In 2016, with a total area of 19 square km, the district’s population was about 646,060, making it the second-largest population in Ho Chi Minh City and the seventh-most crowded district.
Geographically, the district is situated in the north and northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. It shares borders with Binh Thanh District to the east, Tan Binh District to the west, District 12 to the north and west, and Phu Nhuan District to the south.
How to Get to Go Vap District
The district is about 7 kilometers away from the Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and there are many taxis and rental cars available in front of the airport. It is better to opt for a cab if you don’t know how to get around the city. If you are in District 1, 12 kilometers from Go Vap District, you can go by bus route 18, which takes about 1 hour. The traffic during rush hour leading to Go Vap can get heavily congested, so it can take up to 1 hour 30 minutes or more to get there by motorbike or car.
